UnionTech, a manufacturer of industrial 3D printers, will be showcasing its latest additions to the Digital Light Processing (DLP), and Stereolithography (SLA), 3D printing portfolios at Formnext.

Alongside its newly-launched Ultra-RC70 material, UnionTech is showcasing the 𝜋200, Cute 380, Martrix190 and EvoDent S300, as well as its Unionfab ONE software. To truly demonstrate its machines’ capabilities, the firm is also showing off several new parts they’ve been used to produce, with applications varying from dental to heavy industry.

Those attending the trade show can find UnionTech at booth 121-B02, with this year’s Formnext running in Frankfurt, Germany, from 15-18 November, 2022.

An expanding SLA & DLP user base

UnionTech is a well-respected developer of DLP and SLA 3D printer systems, materials, and software. It has been around for over 20 years. The firm’s footprint has grown to encompass the entire European, North American Middle East, Asia Pacific, and North American regions.

UnionTech’s 3,000-strong client base, which trades in over 50 countries, now deploy its proprietary technologies in the aerospace, electronics, dental, footwear, and construction sectors, among others, and their use cases continue to grow.

In the past, the firm’s offering has also found extensive automotive applications. UnionTech 3D printed 54 DRe21 racing car parts last year for Chinese formula electric racing team Tongji University DIAN Racing. Customization specialist C-TECH has also previously utilized the company’s technologies to 3D print complex automotive parts, in a way that greatly improved its cost efficiency.

UnionTech’s 3D printing showcase

UnionTech will be exhibiting its portfolio of systems at Formnext. On the industrial side of its offering, the company markets the 𝜋200, a DLP system featuring a powerful 4K light source that enables the precise, repeatable 3D printing of products with fine surface details down to an accuracy of 30 to 50μm.

According to UnionTech, the system’s optical engine allows it to achieve angular, smooth surfaces that “traditional techniques cannot reach,” while its ‘fine,’ ‘balanced’ and ‘smooth’ modes enable users to configure it to meet their needs.

The firm’s Cute 380 machine was developed to address larger-scale applications. This top-down DLP3D Printer pairs a 4K engine with a larger volume (384 x 226 x 300mm). The system can quickly 3D print large industrial molds while still being small enough to be used in an office. The unit ships with an algorithm that improves light uniformity to ensure quality.

Those working in the dental industry, meanwhile, may want to check out the EvoDent S300 3D printer at UnionTech’s booth. Since first launched in 2017, the machine has shown that it’s capable of producing up to eight full-sized dental models with inserts and four quarter models over a single run, without sacrificing on quality. The system can produce over 32 aligners when stack vertically. This allows the user to in-source production using a small number of 3D printers.

UnionTech’s open-material Martrix machine is also being displayed at its exhibition. The AHEC (3D Printer with Adjustable High Energy Control) is able reach an energy density up to 6mw/cm because of its superior integrated lens technology.2This is double the performance of some of its competition. This allows the system’s light to cure resin in a more complete way, which not only accelerates part formation, but opens up a wider pool of 3D printing materials to adopters.

Formnext: Debuting applications

UnionTech’s free-to-download Unionfab ONE program is also on display at its stand. The firm’s platform is designed to simultaneously simplify the print process, making it as accessible as possible for newcomers, while helping users improve on quality via the inclusion of unique parameter settings that integrate its hardware and software.

In newer developments, UnionTech’s Ultra-RC70 is also making its Formnext debut. This ABS-like resin was designed to offer users a material with both quality and high levels of tensile and elongation at break, anti-aging and durability. These characteristics make the feedstock ideal to be used for functional verification or production of end-use components that are highly impact resistant.

All these products (and a great deal more on the application front) are now being exhibited at UnionTech’s booth at Formnext.

Event attendees can pay them a visit at booth 121-B02, while those unable to make it can check out the company’s full product range at the UnionTech website.
